the bike overheated last night while adjusting the carbs(A/F screws) and pulled a TEA POT move(fan didn`t come on for some reason) so what I first thought was a puddle of oil under my bike this morning, turned out to be antifreeze so after looking around for the leak/s
I wound up taking out the whole thermostat housing and hose assembly
and giving everything a good cleaning, so tomorrow it`s off to Chino Lumber and hardware for "O" Rings (they have every size and for only pennies each) , I can replace all of them for around $2.50.:biglaugh:
The only place I know that has every size of "O" Ring for the bike.:eusa_dance:
<<Dave>>:ummm:
I`m still waiting for the day when all I`ll post about is ...Rides and mods........

Bike cleaned up well after the weekend. Got my Venture pumpkin back on (have a spare Vmax pumpkin on sale if anyone's interested), then took off the bold Shinko and fitted the spare wheel with a brand new Dunlop 491. Crashed it 3mns later so I hate it already..

Gonna order myself another T230 170/80-15 soon - BikeBandit still seems to have the best deal unless someone can beat $86.89 inc shipping and handling?

I just ordered another shinko 170/80-15 tire from Bike Bandit. My current one has just a little bit of wear left in it; the center groove is almost gone. It will be before I put on the new one for sure!

put my CS back on. i like having it.

i also had to file down the original mounting hole in the holeshot stopper mount. it was keeping the CS way to low. so now it sits right.

also for anyone wondering. get a buddy to help u with this to put it back on. don't put theCS on and then try stretching the spring. put the spring on, put one side of the CS and get the bolt thru, then both of you work to stretch the CS back to put the other bolt through. doing the bolt furthest from the spring first worked best. easy with 2 guys and a strap on the front brake.

This sounds like a real easy project to have the bike roll forward off the side stand and prolly fall on the guy stretching the spring....very smart move getting help! If help isn't available, lash the rear wheel to a telephone pole or something, don't take the chance of having that thing come down on you!!

definitely. and put the bike in gear and roll it as far as it will go depending which way u are pushing. holding the brake as well helps. 2 guys made it easy, not sure if 1 would be possible. a lot of leverage on teh CS to bend the spring tho.

hey danny do u have a pic of your CS up so i can check my angle, make sure its high enough? or better yet, measure the height of the top of the CS legs from the bottom of the swingarm on the brake side while its up?

It's a little hard to see, but the 'feet' on the CS are about at the same elevation as the lowest part of the front headers.

The rear headers are a little lower that the CS.

Put some pennies in the spring to stretch it out. In each side of the springs.

i had heard that but the thing wasn't going to stretch enough to put a penny in there easily. plus i had a buddy helping.

i can sort of see. its basically following the same angle of the swingarm. mines actually a little higher.

i had that rubber stopper thing that mounts on the swingarm/fram between the centerstand mounts and i can't for the life of me figure out what it does, does anyone know? doesn't look like the CS hits it either at the highest or lowest point.

Not sure about your pipes Garrett, but on the Mark's the rubber bumper gets relocated from the CS to a little mounting bracket on the crossover pipe.

Does your CS hit metal when it comes up? If it does there is prolly a similar bracket somewhere on your system also.

i actually meant this rubber bumper thing above the spring. the one on my CS is still there.

it actually before, just rested nicely on the muffler clamp. now its about a 1/4" lower than it. i think its good.

yup - that's the hole that holds the OEM silencers box.

The rubber bumper on the CS is on the side part you push down with your foot.

that makes sense! figures...

cut my left neck cover officially for the steering damper, had a beat up spare on there to see if i liked the damper. dremel tool made it look nice (HF knock off at least. love HF!!!)...

aside from that have my buddiest boulevard m50 at the house, final drive oil, engine oil, spark plugs and possible brake fluid change. all in ready for the PIZZA RUNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
