looked at my swingarm caps. gonna do another clear coat tonight. got some more decals coming in if anyone is interested

Rode in this morning. It was 15-F out. I think the Gerbings have found their limit. My hands stayed warm, but I could feel the cold on the tips of my fingers. But after 25 minutes, it was no problem.

My feet however, were freezing. My boots were good into the low 20's, but not the teens.

Oh well, its very rare for it to be this cold here, so we should have some nice riding weather again soon.

With this crappy weather I only got in a little over 6,000 miles, well short of my goal of 10,000. Maybe next year, the Brownie run should give me a 2500 - 3000 mile early summer jump!:punk:
Don`t feel bad Brian, I only got in `bout 1,000 miles in if that !!
and I live in so.Cal.:bang head::bang head::confused2::ummm::damn angry:
maybe next year I`ll get in more.
<<Dave>>:confused2:

Sync'd my carbs today. Thanks to my buddies mc-man and Jack for the use of the Carbtune Pro. Only got a chance for a quick 2-mile ride after I got them syc'd, but the bike seemed to really be running more smoothly.

I cranked out a quick video of my garage follies doing it. Any comments on how far 'out' the carbs were before I started, based on your experience?

How important, expensive, and difficult is this procedure?

Here's the procedure. It's easy. (Obviously, as I could do it.) You just need to either borrow, build or buy a carb sync tool. If you search around here, you can probably find instructions on how to build one. If you would rather buy one, you can order one here. Cost for the Carbtune Pro kit is around $100 (or a bit more).

As to how important it is, I doubt you'd want to try and get by without it being done, either by you or your dealer. For the cost of them doing it once, you can buy the tool and do it yourself. Even being completely clueless (like me), you can get it done and put your tools away in 30-minutes.

pretty, $0 - $300, and not, respecitvely...

i agree with jayhawk, definitely worth doing.

i can send you my 2x port carb sycnh tool. takes a little longer but it only cost $25 and u can borrow it for as long as you need.

the carbtunes are nice and are about $100 as jayhawk said

or the dealer could do it for $300.

i was intimidated at first too, but after doing it the first time man i def noticed a difference. as they came synched the idle rpms jumped 600 rpms! idle was a bit smother, but top end was crazy smoother. 5th gear 6k rpms + were nuts and it just kept pulling had to shut her down that night at like 125.

Thanks guys! I'll read up on this and either buy the tool or borrow gamorg's. For $100.00, it might be worth having my own. I have no idea if mine needs it. It seems to run great, but then again, I may just not know any better.

Oh yeah! I can handle that procedure. I work well with pictures :)

Nice work Maleko89. That is a perfect write up.

I think I'll take the plunge and just get the carbpro kit.

My new dual headlight assembly came in. I held it up to where I want it mounted. Me likey very much. I took a few measurements and an starting to design a bracket in AutoCAD.

I want the headlights to appear "free floating" and not held in place using fork brackets. So far its looking pretty good. Once I get it done, time to have it cut, drilled and bent into the shape I need.

Mocked up the dual headlights tonight. I'm thinking about making a new turn signal mount that will match more closely to the headlights.

Here are a couple of pics of the mock up.

I my opinion, I think that those turn signals are a good match for your headlight.

I don't mind the signals. its the oval shaped space above the headlights that I'm not too keen on. I'm going to fab up a better mount, or at the least make a plate to graft on the stock mount to get rid of it.

That might be easier, then just use a little bit of body filler and then re powdercoat it.

white/chrome/black/red/orange and blue i think if anyone else is interested.

Mocked up, drilled, mounted, removed, and primed my new set of body panels I got yesterday. Fit up like a dream in less than an hour perfectly. Primed the scoops and side panels and will do the rad shrouds tomorrow. Also received the prototype set of clear covers from Morley Muscle and Prezmec. Great job on the covers for sure and I look forward to mounting them on Toxic!!
