body panels? which body panels?

Got a set (scoops, rad shrouds, and side panels) from Prezmec. They look awesome on the bike! Have to custom fit them to the bike which is nice as you dont have oversized, sloppy holes drilled in them that some others have. Will take a couple of pics today while I am doing the bodywork to prep for paint.

I installed a new tach today. I ordered the wrong color on accident (black instead of white to match stock gauges). However, I think it turned out great! Simple install as well! Works like a charm! recommend this to EVERYONE if you don't mind finding another way of mounting the stock speed or getting a new speedo all together.

Sorry for the terrible pictures, I'll get some better ones and maybe a video later.

Looks great!

What are you doing for a speedometer? I suggest a sigma cycle computer. I'm using a Sigma BC906 http://www.sigmasport.com/us/produkte/bikecomputer/topline_wired/bc906/?punkt=features

Its very accurate, I've had it checked against a couple-three radars and its spot on and a real easy install.

Uh oh. The mind is the second thing to go. :biglaugh:

Oh no, loosing my brain. hmmm that could be a good thing, everytime I ride the Max it will be like the first time. Add that to hiding my own easter eggs, hearing the same joke is just as funny and having something of mine wrapped and re-gifted to me. hmmm, I don't have it that bad at all :biglaugh:

I put a shield, handguards and my EZpass on the RatMax to do a little winter touring this weekend.

Then I went and tested the handguards.:punk:

hmmm i like the guards. di dyours help? which brand? I used powermadd for their flexibility (size of guards available).

I am fine. I rode the bike a 100 miles today. I had the Vboost turned off for smoothness. As it got warmer switched it back on. As I pulled out of this lot it was all black ice. And down I went.

The Handguards were stock on my KTM 690 SMC. I took them off when I got the bike. I had them laying around. Took all the wind off my hands. I rode over 100 miles today in under 40 degree temps and was not a bit cold or effected by wind.

The clutch lever and shifter bent. Both were fixed in teh vide when I got home. I have the first road rash ever. All my crashed were in full leathers on race tracks or on wild back roads. This time I was wearing Jeans with thermals. And I got a little on my knee and calf as I slid. But I am good.

Bummer man!! These things don't handle fer **** on black ice...or any other color ice FTM!!

Glad you're not too banged up! :punk:

Oh man that sucks. I rode the max a couple of times in the rain, but its just too squirely. Well, it is with me, because I have no self control. I keep getting the rear wheel swinging out and have to pull a near miracle to stay on.

So its the side car on the wet days ... maxie on the dry days. (ugh, there's a joke there and I was not even trying ... or an oxymoron if you will. Ick ... banish the nasty thoughts).

ain't that a bitch. Sorry to see it on it's side but glad to hear you got more pride hurt then anything else.

Sean

Has anyone come up with an analog speedo to go where the stock tach is yet??

There are a few out there.
Here is an analog style (you still need to buy the sensor)

And here is a analog, mechanically driven style. it's 1-7/8". If I remember right you'll need the 2240:60 ratio. Tom @ cycle one off can get it for you as well.

Bodywork, bodywork, oh yeah and did I mention bodywork? Forget sometimes the amount of work that goes into mounting new parts on a bike that are "in the raw". Cleaned the engine covers with paint thinner/de greaser, primed them with zinc chromate primer, waited a couple of hours and painted them with satin black ceramic engine paint. They look fabulous! Will put a coat of ceramic satin clear on them to protect the color. Am cleaning up the heads and valve covers (sanded, primed, and painted the rear one already) in prep for painting them satin black.

Had to do some mods to the new rad shrouds as they were hitting my COO triple trees (much beefier than stockers) that came out really nice! Love the way the new scoops and shrouds flow together, truly a great look for Toxic!

That sucks, glad to hear there is no real damage to you. I do my share of winter riding and I have to say I don't go out if the pavement looks wet. That invisible **** creeps up on ya quick. It's bit me a few times in the past.

How far did you slide, looks like there is quicket the skid marks there.

To say it again, glad you're ok, and didn't slide into an oncoming vehicle or slide into anything solid break-a-body solid.
