Another sweet machine! After the touch ups you can now call it a KMax.
Look Good & sound good that is about all you can give them because they suck as far as power.LOLIs that a performance exhaust?

90 mile ride today.not a cloud in the sky.And 89 degrees. Rode 14 miles ti work.when it was 69 degrees. Then I took a Lil ride after work. That counted for the next 76 miles. I took the long way home. lol
First time riding with ear buds.(now that I switched from.comp baffle to street baffle. I can hear the tunes.And don't have to have volume up full blast.But once again. A great day to own a vmax.

Stupid things keep finding me lately. Lol
Today I went and bought oil, filter, crush ring and 4 spark plugs. Guess how much, guess. You guessed it Buck forty five. I’m sure I could have found everything on line cheaper but I was off work today and decided I needed to do this today. I did the oil change already that wasn’t too bad, other than magilla the gorilla tightened the oil filter and drain plug to about 200pounds then I grabbed one of my oil pans that has a little hole in it, of course I didn’t realize this until oil was draining on the floor. Lol typical stuff that usually goes wrong. Other than that I’m ready for a test drive. I’m going to wait on the plug change until Sunday when it’s supposed to rain. That looks like a fun project by just glancing at it real quick.

Roger that. Idk if they double or triple charged me or what. Spark plugs were 52$! I got took
So I decided to try and change the spark plugs real quick, lol! These are a pia! I don’t know if there are easier ways but just getting the cops out with no room is somewhat difficult.

Definitely need a proper thin walled spark plug socket.. (18mm I think?)

So very true, and sad it was designed this way.
So far I have one plug in, one cop halfway off and now I’m removing the battery box to try and get the cop off. I’ve used a 5/8” socket on the plug if anyone does this pia procedure. I looked but could not find a write up on plug change so I’m winging it. I realize there is no easy method, your taking things apart! Just a reminder this is a Gen 2 , it has 15.5k and the plug I pulled so far did not look that great. I’m no expert at reading these iridium plugs but I’m already in it elbows deep.

I bought a coil to replace the bad one and ended up buying a COPS kit from gsxr123007 off ebay and just finished installing it. I am not used to how quick it cranks now. Detail it tomorrow and take it out . Let the R1 rest and get some VMAX Wind Therapy . I am going to have to buy a gen 2 have also.
Worked on this 89 today. I bought it from an X AMI motorcycle instructor. He had supposedly rebuilt the motor. I can see all the new gaskets when I picked it up but could not verify 2nd gear was good even though he told me it all looked good. He was a double amputee on on legs so could not verify for sure.. it seems to run and shift fine. It is clean up time now. It looks better in pictures than in person.
