Well crap, shirts shipped but won't make it there likely before you leave (unless you can run to the post office and get them while they are sorting in the morning).

You didnt ship em to the hotel Sean?

Not a problem Sean, I may have my sister mail em to me or may just wait till I get home. Thanks for putting this together for us!

Hey thanks for the offer Brian I might run a chair over tomorrow if tom doesn't have and extra one. :biglaugh:

No, since I was able to get the shirts picked up AND mailed by Friday with a Monday expected delivery for most of them we mailed most directly to the customers.

Took a good look at my air box and it's inlet yesterday evening. I wanted to see if I could raise the "Y" a bit and have the largest and smoothest opening to the filter.

Well---I saw that the filter was trimmed ( years ago) as well as the air box opening. I wanted to try toraise the "Y" some more only to find there was only 1/8" clearence to the faux cover. I used weather stripping foam, about 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick to put into the "Y"s sealing channel.
Found a bit ( maybe a half a teaspoon) of oil in the air box & cleaned it up.

I used 3/8" plastic bushings and. Trimed the Y. It worked well. I always put a bead of grease on the top lip of the filter. Never trimmed the filter though.

Well...I've learned recently that holding your plate vertical is frowned upon here in CT.
And since I cant afford any trouble with the law..I decided to address this.

1st I removed the plate holder (which I thought was custom)..it turns out thar somebody welded a plate holder to a 1 1/16 socket (to hold on axle nut)..and put a bolt thru it.

It was beat anyway..and vibratin..so..I cut it up..measured n cut some steel I found layin around and fabbed up a temporary plate holder.

Just gotta get some led plate lights and ill be GTG.

(Hopefully pics load)

Traumahawk was kind enough to call me and tell me that those little brass nuts at the bottoms of the carb float bowls were not just drain plugs. installed 150 jets in rebuilt carbs by Sean.

Discovered that all 4 of my sliders are shot...as are all the rubber hoses and the like. Air box needs some parts too.

Now looking for 1100 bucks to buy the stuff that needs replacing due to the fact that all the rubber on this 1986 is old and cracked.

I'm LOVIN' THIS ****!!!!!

John, save a few bucks and replace the diaphragms with after market parts. The sliders are good I hope?

I just finished doing some carb work. I, per Mark's post, made some 2" stacks to place under the filters. The seat of the pants dyno says it all works great. But, I plan to be on a real dyno this week for an A/F readout.

Just prep'ed my area for pulling my carbs. Just need to order the extra parts for the carb rebuild and actually remove the carbs from the bike.

I gave her a thorough cleaning and noticed one of my clutch cover bolts were missing. Another good reason to keep your bike clean.

On sunday, i did valve cover replacement and valve adjustment since I was in there.

Put most of it together today. Then tore off the swing arm for clean up and oil leak diagnostics. Hoping to get my parts and get it all together by Friday so I can ride out to thunder on Saturday.

Got a different set of carbs I want to try and finish up by then too.

Got all the parts in the mail from captainkyle for the marks 4-2-1 so I just finished painting it, painted the swingarm Sean sent me so I can swap that on (as soon as I can borrow a shop with a 27mm socket) and got my tires finally so now it's time to do work! Hopefully this week I can have it back together and send the original parts back to Sean and Kyle.
