"Funny how thirty thousand dollars of chrome and ghost flames doesn't get the same attention as a pair of poorly cast aluminum scoops".

+1 Exactly...Chrome don't get you home baby! Max just oozes respect. :punk:

I did a little test fitting of some bars on the old max today.... still have a long way to go, but it is looking fast if nothing else!

Just got the faux tank cover and front fender back from the painter...good-bye paint chips and scatches! Fortunately there was no damage to the flames so I got to keep the sweet-looking stock colours!

Had my header pipes ceramic coated and the cans polished. NICE!

All I need now is a Chinook to take away all this white crap.

Sounds sweet.

I hear ya on the chinook. We can use another up here, but is it just me or does it seem when they do come they never stay long.

Only got to last long enough to wash the salt off the road...I've ridden between snowbanks before! LOL!

Chinook is a sudden warming trend that also leaves very quickly. Western Canada and maybe Alaska get them. Something to do with the mountains and warm ocean currents...maybe someone else knows more detail.

We get what's leftover of the chinook winds after the plains states let them pull down the cold arctic air with it. That gives us perfect weather so we get the full effect of lake enhanced snow storms here in the middle of the great lakes.

Oh yeah, we get em. Last month a chinook blew through and took up from -55 to +55f in less then a week. with 80deg of that change in 3 days.

No Chinooks this far East, unfortuantely. What we do get in this part of Ontario is all that nice lake-effect snow our southern neighbours in Michigan and New York enjoy!

Well I parked mine at a friend's in Tampa - outside under a thin roof :confused2:

It's gonna have to stay there for a month - I'm in Orlando for the rest of this week and off to ol'Blighty for the rest of the month. Not looking forward to sleet and snow and gray..

Now I can't wait for March already - sunshine and back on Maxine, for 2 months!

Have a safe trip Naughty!
Hope you get back in time for Bike week!

Howdy
Well I've been walking around the vmax all winter but tomorrow that ends.
Even though she was running sweet when I parked her I am droppin some seafoam in and riding for 60 miles round trip. It is supposed to be close to 70 degrees here in SW Kansas and I will be off work rest of the week so it is time to ride :)

Installed my new custom dual round LED Tail and Brake light on the rear fender.
Pulled the clutch out to start figuring a way to turn it into a slider clutch.
3 more weeks and test tune starts weather permitting!:eusa_dance:

Took apart my front end, to mount my 5" tach and shift light.

mounted the digital speedometer (looks great) :punk:and it even looks like after adjusting the shiftlight to a lower position, the Tach will fit under the stock instument cowel, which is fine cause I usually run with my shift lights near the handlebars anyway:biglaugh:.

Mocked up, it looks pretty sweet. I have band rehersal tomorrow from noon to 6, so I'll finish it up tomorrow night. then I'll post pictures.

another $100 bag of little chrome fasteners (ok, some big ones too)

The search for bars continues, I got a promising set off a cb900 custom.

Ordered my stainless lines, front, rear, and clutch along with a new battery. Trying to make the most of the rainy weekend here.
