I'm still waiting on parts from Germany that I ordered through him.....I ordered the parts on Jan. 23rd. It's really getting annoying by now. It doesn't take THIS long to ship from Germany to the U.S. I know. I shipped a car stereo and 2 6x9's to my buddy in Germany and it took a LOT less time than this is taking.

Actually on this one I skipped Boxenstopp and ordered direct from Mek. No sense in the middleman, provided you can navigate their rather odd website.

Completely stripped all the aluminum pieces off the 09 for powercoat,and the exhaust as well,droped off to powercoater,be back next week.:clapping:

Finally got the vmax out of storage, installed new battery, new plugs and oil change. Installing kerker and morley's jet kit once I get a carb sych tool.

I got in a wreck with mine today.

A guy pulled out in front of me and I had no place to go.
I was headed down the right lane of 3 lanes of traffic. The left and
center lanes were stopped and the guy squeezed through the two stopped
lanes and pulled right out in front of me. As always the "I didn't see
him coming" excuse was given. But I didn't see him either, till he was
already in front of me.
I tried to dive left around his rear bumper
and knew I was not going to make it so I locked up the brakes and then
I fish tailed and slammed the rear of my Max into his rear quarter
panel, then got flung around the other direction and went down on the
right side.
Thanks to all my gear I only scrapped my knee and pulled a muscle in my shoulder.
But My Max suffered a bit more.
Broke the fly screen all to hell, the right directional, bent the handle bars
back and dented the air box cover, front brake lever, throttle control
and mirror are trashed, right engine guard and foot peg bent back, and
right tail pipe scratched to hell, as well as the right scoop.

When I first popped back up on my feet I wanted to. But then the panic of getting my Max back up took priority. A couple of guys came running up and helped me get it back up and off to the side of the road. Then I checked to see if all my body parts were still intact.
By then 6 or 7 others were standing there asking me if I was ok. So by then the anger had subsided and I realized getting angry with him would only get me all stressed out.
The guy was sincerely sorry and kept apologizing. And offered to stay till my trailer got there and help me load the bike up. Plus he got the right of way violation and ticket and has full insurance coverage.
So I figure what the fuck, The Bike can be fixed, no one got seriously hurt, that's what's important.
Stupid is as stupid does, ya just gotta roll with it.

I'm sorry to hear that Robert. Glad to know your still in one piece. I have the stock handlebars, mirrors and turn signals. They are yours if you wan't them.

jeeze man that sucks!! i almost went down the other day when a dog ran into my rim @ 35mph.. (in the what did your vmax do to u thread).. but anyways i feel for ya.

Check the front forks over well and look at your steering stops in the triple. Let me know if it looks like they are broken and I can tell you what other damage to look for if so. Glad to hear you are basically ok. Time to customize a little now.

Wreck always suck at least your alive... Last spring I got ran off the road on my xs, right into small ditch and washed out in a gravel parking lot. Got scars to prove it.

Got the vmax out of storage installed new battery, spark plugs and did a oil change. Have jet kit and kerker, waiting to pick up a sych tool

Damn that sucks, glad to hear your mostly OK Robert.
I have a air box cover that needs hardware and to be repainted. I also have the lever, mirror, and turn signals, all stock.

That's a real bummer Robert!! :damn angry: Glad to hear you could walk away mostly intact. Sounds like the cager's insurance will cover the fix-up, but if not we have, assembled on this forum, the greatest bunch of guys I've ever run across. They/We will help you any way possible.
