Don't believe that Shinko is a radial. There was a thread about it being mis-labeled. Better check or you will have a radial front and a bias ply rear.

I agree, I could not find a 15" radial anywhere on line and I searched for over 3 hours once. Even went down to the local motorcycle tire shop about 2 minutes from my house and they couldnt find any either so be careful

I got these same results, BUT, the kid at Bikebandit said the Shinko 15" rear was a radial....I told him no one made a radial in that size, but he was adamant....So I bought my new tires from Tires Unlimited.

BB's on-line info indicated the 15" rear was a radial, don't know if they've changed that now (this was late last summer) but be cautious...it is not a radial and should not be combined with a radial on the front.

had to put about 100 miles on her just to make sure the steering head bearings tightening I did was good! haha so i guess thats what i did saturday...

i think she's finally all ready for spring...

Edit: and oh yea put the bars back to stock... thanks to 44magnum!!!

You can actually mix radials and bias but I believe the rear is what needs to be radial first. Still better to have a matched pair anyway.

You're very welcome Biggen. I'm just glad I didn't get rid of it. Hey, looks like the mirrors had enough adjustment in them, no?

Taking some parts to the powdercoater!! Snowmax is getting ready for the Spring Supershow in Toronto, On April 4-5th...... Hoping to place better than 3rd this show, its a conspiracy against Vmax's that they put me in a class against trailer queens with my daily rider:bang head: Hoping to have things all together this weekend, with help from 02MoneyPit:eusa_dance:

Having a guy replicate my side panels in polished diamondplate. apparently I didn't have enough to polish already :eusa_dance:

yea, they're about maxed out tho. the only difference is my arms block them more if i had them in the same spot, i had to push them out and up a bit more. they work fine tho and doesn't look like i'm in the 50's trying to pic up NBC on my television with the stock mirrors....

like i was telling you as well, those little $2 plugs go a long way in cleaning up the reservoirs.....

also, i just learned about helicoils this weekend when i replaced my bars. the top thread that the bolt on the master cylinder handlebar bracket goes into had been stripped out so it wouldn't hold 100%. took about 10 mins with a helicoil set and it holds like new. probably could have tapped a 7mm thread but thsi way it stays smaller and i don't have to go find a matching 7mm bolt.

i didn't use the helicoil brand but the autozone version, either way worked great.. (little expensive for the kit) but hey i'm sure i'll run into another 6mm thread at some point that this needs to be done to.

would love to see some pics when ya get it all together...

also on those knee guards, i ended up not usign the bottom bracket it came with but got a rubber gromet of sorts and just put it on the end of the bolt that was at the bottom. it rests against the cylinder head and gives it a tiny bit of play as well. that bracket would have had those guards sticking out pretty far...

down the road i'll be getting frame braces which should take care of it all completely...

Will post some pics as soon as possible once reassembled. Am really excited to see how it looks with the 6" stretched swingarm for sure. Getting some custom powdercoat done on the scoops as well. I had to make a new lower bracket to mount the knee guards as well. If I hadn't they would have stuck out way too far. Hoping to have the majority of the work completed this weekend as far as assembly goes, will just be waiting on a new seat cover and a swingarm spool to come in. Hopefully the weather will be nice the following week and I can get some good outdoor pics, maybe even get lucky and find someone to pose with the Snowmax:eusa_dance:

I bought my Shinkos from BB under the understanding that they were radials, as they were listed that way. When I received them, I called them back to complain that they were NOT radials (any radial has 'R' in its name, eg 170 R15).

They apologized and offer to take them back. I said too late I've fitted them but I'm not happy. So they offered my shipping money back, which I took, asking them to please modify their listing to prevent further confusion. Funny to see they have not, but at least, everybody - get your Shinkos from BB they come with free shipping LOL :clapping:

finally got bellypan and front fender back from body shop and put them on, not a one man task by the way.

Unfortunately, there is no 15" radial on the market. :confused2:

Well I got to ride Maxine a little today :eusa_dance::punk::clapping: but had to take the car back to Orlando as I'm still moving shite around. At least I have my tools with me now, and a first box of Max parts to go on fleabay.

She's running sweet as a nut, and I fitted the lil' headlamp visor that came on the other bike to it - always liked the look of those :biglaugh:

Going to pick up the parts i dropped off to the powder coaters on thursday of last week and get them anadized instead, found a company that does a one bin charge instead of indivdual pieces, still going to get the exhaust powder coated though. This is all for the 09,tell me what you think.Im going satin black on the front head pipes and exhaust tips and flat black on the cans,do tell.:confused2:
