Thanks for all the well wishes guys. And all the help offered.
I'll definitely be hunting up parts once the insurance settles up.
I'll let you all know what I need.

Damn Robert, sorry to hear about your incident - glad to hear that your ok!

I have a bunch of stock parts too - if you need any, let me know.

Mike

glad to here your ok cowboy, how fast was you going? rode my first sustained willy today, wasn't planned, it came up going into 2nd gear and i just stayed with it for awhile, it was fun but i don't think i will make it a habit. sparky

I got in a wreck with mine today.

A guy pulled out in front of me and I had no place to go.
I was headed down the right lane of 3 lanes of traffic. The left and
center lanes were stopped and the guy squeezed through the two stopped
lanes and pulled right out in front of me. As always the "I didn't see
him coming" excuse was given. But I didn't see him either, till he was
already in front of me.
I tried to dive left around his rear bumper
and knew I was not going to make it so I locked up the brakes and then
I fish tailed and slammed the rear of my Max into his rear quarter
panel, then got flung around the other direction and went down on the
right side.
Thanks to all my gear I only scrapped my knee and pulled a muscle in my shoulder.
But My Max suffered a bit more.
Broke the fly screen all to hell, the right directional, bent the handle bars
back and dented the air box cover, front brake lever, throttle control
and mirror are trashed, right engine guard and foot peg bent back, and
right tail pipe scratched to hell, as well as the right scoop.
82 glad your ok ... been there done that look at it as your lucky day..nothing broken or lost...

Good to hear there were no serious injuries Cowboy. Wish you and your Max the best for a quick recovery.

I was finally able to get mine out of the shed today and take my first ride of 2009. A weee bit chilly here in Michigan at 45 deg. But just bundled up and enjoyed the BLAST of fresh air. How sweet it is!!!

Actually it was yesterday, I put in a new battery.
I decided to go with the "16b"series a little fatter(had to cut the battery box) but a little narrower so the terminals are away from the frame which I like (no more shorting the positive terminal) :biglaugh: everything came together great and it seems to run better but, today I`m going to attempt to re do my seat.:eusa_dance: with Seans advice and pics of other seats mine is going under the knife. (a miricale blade actualy) Wish me luck because I am broke and I can`t take the stock one any more `cause the last ride numbed my nuts for two days :damn angry: and that can put a hurtin` on a man.

Damn, Rob I'm glad to hear you're ok! How does your shoulder feel? Remember to ask for damages - if your shoulder doesn't heal real quick there could be an '09 in there for you :eusa_dance:

Same here about parts - I have this whole bike I'm about to part out so anything I can help with just let us know!

Today I got Maxine all washed up (it had 6 weeks of leaves and a pollen coat all over it). Then I took it for a ride into the sunset. Amazing - last night it didn't wanna start and felt like the battery was dead, but today it fired again and runs like a champ!

First thing to make me really happy this year, after the nightmare in the UK, my wife divorcing me and moving out of our old house!

Also today, I went to Sarasota to perform a shotgun, carb sync and put fresh sparks on dougsoc's '01 Vmax.

Took a couple of hours, and then it ran like new. Doug was a happy camper :clapping::clapping:

Glad you're back in the states, Naughty. Good to know you got through and put all that mess behind you. Smooth sailing from here on. Nice pic of your max.

Last month I told the "mod monkey" to go fuck himself. Then I took all the mod money and booked a sweet tropical trip for the whole family. Just arrived back in Canada yesterday from an awesome trip that the missus and I really enjoyed and the kids will probably remember forever.

It`s 11:35pm and I just finished the shaping of my seat and it came out pretty good. (it`s nice and fat and lower now)Tomorrow I`m going to buy a couple sheets of 1/4" thin foam to cover it with before I seal it back up and then it`s on to the next project .

I assembled the cranks and tranny

New bearings, put it together with plastigauge. Took it apart again and inspected the clearances. Cleaned the journals and coated the bearings with assembly lube. Applied activator to both halves and a thin bead of Anerobic sealer to the lower case. Assembled and torqued the bolts. Starting to look like a motor again. WOOHOO!:eusa_dance:

WELL,...since I had to give up the Carrozzira's ,..I thought I might as well switch to radial's. Ordered a Metz Z6 120/70 18" for the front. and a Shinko 230 tour master 170/80 15" for the rear.
All from BikeBandit, both for almost the same price i payed for the Metz 170/80 15" I put on late last summer.
The shinko was only 75 bucks ,...I already feel sorry for the shinko,..cause at that price ,..I'm gonna shred it and smoke it and slide the hell out of it.
Hard top is a wicked misstress that should be punished reagularly....:th_whip:. MUAaAuAHAHAHAH... :angry flame devil:

Don't believe that Shinko is a radial. There was a thread about it being mis-labeled. Better check or you will have a radial front and a bias ply rear.

finished my seat and put it back on the max today.
It`s a little lower and alot fatter :clapping:Sure hope this works for me. I want to take it for a good ride but the weather is too iffy, it looks like it could rain at any minute :bang head: so, I guess I`ll put the rest of that can of sea foam in the tank and hope that the weatherman keeps his promise of sunshine tomorrow and then we shall see what we shall see.

Did the air box mod on the 09 today with the vmax rider, waiting on performance air filter and plate bracket signals for the back, did the horn relocation as well.I am currently talking to the creater of the x-pipe system to remove the cat, looks like a great upgrade.:biglaugh:

Took a few more things off the Sallymax....still looking everything over but I'm not seeing anything that bothers me so will begin the re-assemble as the parts & peices start to arrive.
