lol what a green peace pussy. I think some of the first 2009 vmax owners should do a group burnout in front of his house.

You dont know how much I wanted to get the OP and his supporters together and slap them silly! They ranted like the VMax was the only bike offered so they had no choice but to buy the "gas guzzling eye sore". I'm pretty sure Yamaha makes a street legal scooter for those dingerlings! :biglaugh:

:rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200: Is this somebody's idea of bashing the new max? To me, all his descriptions and analogy's just make the bike sound more appealing! Maybe that's really what he's trying do. It an underground conspiracy theory put into motion by Yamaha. Bad publicity is good publicity right? I think I read too many newsletters from mototune usa. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX......(twilight zone music now playing in my head. doo do doo do)

I still think it was written as humor or as I stated with "tongue in cheek".

Wow. This guy needs to go hug a tree for some emotional support. I'm not one to go out and try to pollute the environment, but I'm sure 2500 motorcycles don't make that big of an impact. Just my $.02.

This guy is a fool! He picks on a motorcyle saying that it is ruining the enviroment! He should be bashing the 4 wheel suv/ minivan segment instead. I for one don't drive my full size gas guzzling 4wd truck because I am driving my Vmax. During the summer my "carbon footprint" is greatly reduced!

Same here Redbone, my nice GMC Sierra sits in the barn all summer unless I need some lumber or something for a project, I'm on the Max, that's why I bought it.

Afraid I have to disagree with you on one point though, the guy isn't a fool. He knew just what group to target. We're passionate about our bikes, we get very upset when they're badmouthed, and the timing was there to go after the V Max. That's where he was guaranteed the most bang for his '******** buck!'

You notice he didn't go after the $500,000 Ferari crowd, or any of the other high end cage buyers. Those folks don't read him, he would have fallen flat on his ass, with no reaction whatsoever.

No, he came after us, and we are reacting exactly as he expected we would, with outrage. Screw him, I say, who gives a damn what his opinion is of our choices.

We'll buy and drive what we damn well please, and 2,500 really lucky ones will get the '09, the rest of us will continue to ride, and love, our Gen. 1's.

And maybe, just maybe one of us will be lucky enough to lay a "carbon footprint" right on his arrogant ass!!

Apparently the idiot rides a Metropolitan :moped2:

I'd ride my Vmax even if it only got 5 miles to the gallon :peace out bike:

He's just making the new Max that much more popular, he's helping us if you will!!

This is a perfect example of how any ******* can type some ******** on the internet and think he is right somehow. If he said some of this crap in person outside of his little girl group, he'd get a smackdown right away and know better next time.

Demonstrating once and for all that the company is run by a bunch of rabid motorheads with no perspective on reality

I say Thanks for the complement....

Obviously a guy that doesn't know anything about Yamaha, claims he was formerly a "motorcycle mag writer"; I don't think so, too many glaring errors. First he compares the new max to excessive SUV, WRONG, the max will get 30+ MPG (with semi legal riding) comparable to most economy cars. Second he made the comment that the max ran through 2008, WRONG, the 1st gen was discontinued in 2007! Third, he very directly implies that Yamaha is totally socially irresponsible when it comes to "earth friendly" vehicles; WRONG, first of all they are a MOTORCYCLE CO. which are more "earth friendly" second Yamaha has a complete line of 100+ MPG scooters called VINO, more his speed I'm sure!

Comment from Hal Licino......
Tony Lee: Can you please tell me where you were riding your Vmax at 155 mph? If it wasn't on a sanctioned race course, you've done more to prove my point than anyone else ever could: Most Vmax riders are dangerous thrillseekers who put the lives of innocent motorists at risk every day. Let's only pray that you continue to stay poor and can't afford the vastly more powerful 2009 model.

Rriiiiiiiiight. Like an expensive second generation Vmax is the only bike that can do this. Yeah, and most of us Vmaxers are the only ones on two wheels that ride like that.

Where does this guy live? Mayberry?

No not Mayberry, I think he is a card carrying socialist from the nanny state of Canada. You know the country that outlawed fireworks anywhere, and will confiscate your bike, put you in jail , revoke you're drivers license and fine you an ungodly amount of money! (around $2K I believe) if you're caught @ 35 MHP over the speed limit! Makes a great case for immigration; of course, their are a lot of folks that think this kind of "protect me from everything" cradle to grave philosophy is just fine. Not us Texans, not now, not ever!

Yeah, all I can say for the 09 is "Very Right Bike at the Very Right Time!"
And that guy is underlining it.
