Went and took a look at an engine and a frame for a new project. The frame wan't what I wanted and the engine wasn't as described.

So the hunt is still on for a decent 48-70cc powerplant. I'm thinking summer I'll have better luck as they always seem to show up at transfer stations. Not so much at the current snow and temps. I missed out on one last year, A old honda 50cc 3-wheeler was drumped off. By the time I went home and brought back the Dodge is was already taken :bang head:.

But on the plus side, I'm slowly getting some good parts for my 1900's repli-bike on a budget project.

What I did to the max was took a few measurements to finally get around to mounting my steering damper.

Rode around for an hour. Stopped by a friends and ordered some 20/50w and some 75/90 w Amsoil. Think I'm going to need a new battery for next season. Anybody using a lithium ion Shorai?

I just ordered the Parts Unlimited premium battery, 410 cca! Totally sealed, expensive but worth it. I think it is the same o.s. as the Shorai.

Update:
just got a call, my Lithium-ion battery is in, gonna go see it & how it fits

boxed up my OTEC rear sets for posting...

Sold my ohlins rear shocks, barnett black SR2 clutch kit and Yoshimura silencers.

Fittred the OTEC lockup clutch when the standard clutch spring got back fron chrome plating.....

Getting on with the 280 rear fitting.

Shotgunned and resynched the carbs. Detailed. Tightened up a couple radiator hose clamps--found a coolant weep. Topped off the oil--oil level was half a window. Prepped for tomorrow's benefit poker run.

regards from my tapatalking android...

I went out for a nice long ride yesterday afternoon before having dinner. Plan on going out again today as well. I was sitting at a light when a car started honking his horn and as I looked over there was a family and the father who was driving started waving and giving me the "thumbs up" yea. It never gets old, it feels good when someone makes such an obvious compliment towards my bike. And every stop I made when I come out to the bike there's a crowd around it. Gotta love the VMAX!!

+1 I get it when I stop in at the local Yam / Suz / Honda / Victory dealers store as well. Mostly from the salesmen & techs.

about 1/2 mile form home today on the way to work the strap on my laptop bag got loose. heard a lodu pop and immediately pulled over. it got caugh in my swingarm somehow and broke my directionals, tail light and lots of knicks in my 412 progressive shocks. thats all i can tell for now. damage control when i get home. also lost my cosmetic filter on top of the breather for my final drive. ****** day.

yup it does. i have no idea how it got loose though. the laptop bag was strpaped down by a bungee net so even if it got loose the length of the thing was shorter where it could come out. no idea. and i always tuck it in. unless one of the hooks came loose somehow.

put it up for winter just bought it but to cold to ride only put 200 mi on it but i love it first max!!!

Geez Garrett, sorry to hear about that! A reason I remove my bag strap & put it inside when I go to work on the bike.

i have tucked it in and never had a problem for years now doing so. no idea what changed. i'm starting to think one of the ends came loose. only way it woulda been long enough to catch something.
