Yep, as instructed.

Works (or doesn't) just as planned. This will really let me concentrate on riding the curves without keeping one eye on the tach the whole time.

I think your over thinking it and letting your nerves worry you.
I've never seen any post by any VMax rider say, Watch out for the VBoost in the Curves at Deals Gap, it launches you off the mountain. Nor any curve anywhere for that matter.

:punk:

I got my new Mirrors put on today. They actually came Yesterday, but I picked them up from the post office today and put them on tonight. Not too shabby for 50 bucks.
I got the Black Slim Ovals from D2Moto. Their service was awesome. I ordered them Sunday and got them yesterday via Priority Mail.
I didn't think I'd like them but so far I'm not dissatisfied with them. The quality is good. It took 4 different wrenches to put them together and install them. So far I like em.
I forgot to take pictures before it got dark, so I'll take some tomorrow and post them.

Well, since its raining outside and i've got nothing else i can work on, i figured i'd make my own rearsets. Moved the pegs back 3". I like the position much better. Had to move them out 1/2" which i'm not wild about but i like it. Give a little more room to move around. Got the brake switch and brake master remounted and working well. Will have to figure something out on the gear shift lever though. Its useable as-is, but i'm catching it with the end of my foot. I guess if i had a bigger foot(mine is a 10), it would be good.

I cleaned the gas tank on my 86 today & put it back in & put the back fender & grab rail back on they weere off when I got the bike then I had to quit & put throttle & choke cables & a new ignition switch on this Vulcan I have that some one wants to buy from me.

Yeah, but it was easy and now it's done. I spent this weekend in the same area, with the Concours Owners Group. I followed some very smooth and quick riders and I learned a lot from watching and emulating them. Looking forward to this weekend there again!

I rode my Max to work today.
And HOLY COW!!!
The new mirrors I got should have a sticker on them that says... Caution Objects in mirror Are Frigin GiGantic!!
It was freakin me out, everything is actual size, unlike normal mirrors. Every car that came up behind me I thought was 6" off my ass.
I'm not too sure I like em... The blind spot in them is big enough to hide an SUV.

I had those same mirrors in chrome finish. In addition to the problems you mention, I didn't like the slight blue tint to the glass. I sold mine and went back to the stock mirrors.

Mine don't have a tint to them. And after my last set, I can't stand the stock mirrors now. I rode with them all last week and they became a huge distraction.

I always go with bar-end mirrors like Mario Aguiar makes...great rear view, and they lower the profile of the bike. Just my 2 cents.

Today I removed my vacuum equalizing mod, and my T-boost as well. I'm sending it back to its maker, as I believe it's not working right, he says the COPs should not make any difference to it, and he has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We shall see..

Bike seems to be running good, it only did its misfiring thing once earlier today, then worked fine for the rest of the ride. I still think it's crap in the gas. I was gonna swap my fuel tank, but I have to get that cap off it first. The idea of the bump key is great, but I need to find a blank that will go in there first. Maybe tomorrow.

Late model rotors.....check.

DOT4..........check.

Air compressor..........(*@*@)(!)!

Rode mine again today. Fuel pump only went crazy after a 2mns stop once, so I think most of the loose shit from the tank has gone through. Should be good for Deal's Gap.

Took the spare tank to the locksmith and got the locking cap (picked) off. Then spent time prepping it for fresh paint as it had a few rusty edges.

Then rode again to work, bike's running great with Vmax pumpkin, stock Vboost and no vac mod. Feels real busy on the revs after months of riding the Venture pumpkin, and I really wanna take it to the highway some time as I think I'll get much better top speed with this pumpkin - w/ Venture it didn't really wanna go past 135..

I use an impact gun/compressor to remove the rotor bolts. The bolts are soft metal and using the gun has worked every time for me.

really. hmm i've just used a breaker bar each time. do u put 'em back to 18 ft lbs ish?
