I am using a couple of speedhut ones. I have a GPS speedo but not the Speedhut one. i got one a few years before Speedhut put theirs out. Don't have any pics of my gauges at the moment though. One thing annoying w the GPS is that when you go WOT it takes a few seconds for the signal to catch up w your actual speed. Also there are some dead spots where the speed will just cut out and then a half mile later will come back.
And will not work in EU cuz we have a lot of tunnels and spees cameras inside LOL
Cool feature but for flat dessert roads like in US.
 
marsmax85, I love the new cover. You can hear the puppy when it takes a deep breath. I put some foam around the airfilter to seal it off to get a little induction.

I'm still debating on the rear rim. I'm going to leave it like this for a while. in the winter the front is going to get some paint on it to match the rear wheel.
 
Love your setup KJ. How much of a pain is it to get the Koso speedo/tach up and runni g?

Love your setup KJ. How much of a pain is it to get the Koso speedo/tach up and runni g?

It's a $50 Koso knock-off from eBay. It wasn't too bad at all. Just had to sit down and figure out what wire goes where and put a different plug on it. After that was done I made a page for it, to put in the Archangel book. This way I don't have to trace the wiring again.

Hi guy's I order 3 of the China gauges with 2 extra magnet pick ups for each and My wife bought me the Koso gauge to my surprise with 3 extra speedometer cable. The China gauges are just a little bigger than the koso gauge. The China gauges use 3 nuts that mounts to the back of the 3 bolts heavy duty. The Koso use 3 small screws that mounts to the back the screw mounts are plastic so if any 1 buy the koso don't over tightening the screws.


I'm not sure on what going to install on the vmax now but wifie told me I better install the koso set up.

Koso RX1N gauges up and running.. The wiring I tap in to some of the old gauges wiring. Old gauges and lights are still hook up for now. Shift light is set at 11000 rpm.

That is way too high for a Vmax. Should be set at 9,000 as it will go higher by the time you make the shift. Some say you can rev as high as 10,000 but I use 9,500 as my absolute redline. I would set a shift light on my bike at 9,000 so wouldn't rev past 9,500.

thanks for the info, my cams have been regrinded by schneider cams last year, I was told to shift at 11000 for racing at the drag strip been shfting 11000 rpm this summer at the track.

The koso has to 2 lights - 1 yellow set to come at 9500 and the red light come's on at 11000 rpms.


The koso rx1n is what i have it's dead on matching the vmax stock tech when running.
