It takes willpower sometimes not to launch or respond to personal attacks, I would rather stop entering a thread that is too out of hand for me than know it was shut down because it offended someone. I'm not fond of the attacks but it's part of entering a discussion like this. A lot of this just needs to be taken with a grain of Na, my contributions included.

I would suggest that this thread has probably offended more than one person, but we're all adults and nobody has to come in here if they don't want to. By now we all know where clicking this link will bring us. Participation in this is strictly optional. I cant see anywhere that this is adversely effecting any other part of the forum so I cant imagine why it should not be allowed for willing participants.

I would like to applaud the moderator for allowing us this patch of earth to vent and debate, one thing I think we can all agree on is that censorship sucks! The ability to speak frankly with other adults does have value, even if it gets messy. I'm pleased that we are still allowed to do this.

I like hearing people’s opinion on such a polarizing topic. To be objective is to explore reason and understanding of all angles presented. I think these discussions are a good way to subject ourselves to different views. We don’t have to agree on something to understand it. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this topic is as divisive as it is. Hopefully we can move forward with less personal attacks.

For anyone interested, here is an article from a source that is considered by most a middle of the road reporting organization......not leaning left or right.

It describes the Presidents penchant for conspiracy theories that fit his agenda and cause confusion. These "theories" are what truly is - the "Fake News" and work to further divide the country. IMO

Apparently you didn't catch the IG Report that just came out today...lol...

Apparently you didn't catch the IG Report that just came out today...lol...

From Fox News Article:

"Specifically, the report concluded that investigators found no intentional misconduct or political bias surrounding the probe's launch and efforts to seek a controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page in the early months of the investigation."

Also from Fox News article regarding the IG report:

"Former FBI bosses Comey and Andrew McCabe did get a boost, with an IG finding that they did not act with political bias. The report extended a similar finding to the overall surveillance efforts targeting Page and to the Russia case as a whole. The review determined that "the FBI had an authorized purpose" when agents launched the Russia investigation "to obtain information about, or to protect against, a national security threat or federal crime."

From lawyer very intimate with the FISA process - David Kris - you can look him up:

The report finds multiple and significant errors in the conduct of the FBI investigation, and in the FBI’s handling of the FISA applications, as well as areas for improvement in FBI procedures. These errors are very serious, although again they don’t support any claim of deep-state conspiracy or political bias. These FBI errors weren’t political, the IG concluded, but neither are they acceptable, particularly in an investigation involving a presidential campaign.

Idea that errors identified by IG report mean that this was “FISA abuse” or that the actual surveillance was illegal is simply false. There is a difference between acknowledging genuine error and process and policy concerns versus pretending this report vindicates obvious lies.

Also to note the IG report concluded Lisa Page and Peter Strock did nothing wrong as well in regards to the investigations. The IG report also showed that there were other FBI agents on these cases that were pro-Trump and were texting each other. But just like Page and Strock the pro-Trump agents kept their personal biases out of the investigations.

So back to ItGoes post regarding Trump and his conspiracy theories. The IG report today confirmed that the "Obama wiretapped Trump" conspiracy is yet another piece of fiction. But that shouldn't be a surprise considering Trump(and his wife Melania) spent 5 years claiming Obama wasn't a US citizen and never proving it.

The lies and conspiracy theories are never going to stop. Because Trump and the Republicans know his supporters will trust him despite the facts. Trump was right when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and wouldn't lose any supporters.

It also concluded that Obama did wire tap Trump. And the report I read which one would think was the same, that the FBI acted on horribly thin and unsupported information. Anyone can spin anything the way they want. Personally, I'd rather wake up staked out on an ant hill than wake up with the mindset of a Liberal.

There has been a long standing belief about a 'Deep State' inside our Government, going back as far as at least the early 60's; that LBJ is STRONGLY BELIEVED to have been behind the JFK assassination because JFK was going to pull us out of Vietnam and that Lee Harvey Oswald was just a fall guy. Enhanced by today's technology, there is no NO doubt there were at least two gunmen involved in JFK's death.

Now you Libbies can laugh all you want but that is what I believe to be true and NO amount of your Liberal giberish is ever going to change my mind. Your side doesn't even want Photo IDs to vote... Even a fence post can figure out the reasoning behind that little issue...

I didn't spin anything. I LITERALLY copy and pasted out of the Fox New article. But I guess Fox News is deepstate/Fake News now. The Inspector General is a non-partisan entity. It exists for this very type of oversight. I don't think anyone harbors notion minds are going to be changed. I sure don't. If you can't the see the obvious, aint nothing I can do to improve one's eyesight.

-The man filed bankruptcy multiple times, fined tens of millions of dollars, had multiple businesses shut down for fraud but his supporters say he's a great business man.
-The man cheated on all 3 of his wives. Cheated on Melania with a **** star and broke campaign finance laws to pay her off. He's on tape admitting he grabs women by the genitals without their permission and deliberately walking in on pageant contestants when they were nude while changing. And evangelicals says he's heaven sent.
-He got 5 deferments for "bone spurs" and he's insulted MULTIPLE decorated combat veterans viciously and his supporters call him brave and tough.

I wouldn't be throwing stones at liberal mindsets in that glass house. But I guess there's no fear of breaking glass if the arm that throws it is weak. You can keep throwing stones though. That puts me in the company of Admiral McRaven. If you dont know who he is - He's a SEAL and was the former commander of the United States Special Operations Command. He was commander of the SEALS when they took out Bin Laden. Did you know he wrote an op-ed titled "Our Republic Is Under Attack From the President" back in October?
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/17/opinion/trump-mcraven-syria-military.html

But I know. He's just one of those crazy deep state liberals that doesn't know what he's talking about. He's not a real patriot like Trump.

Your side doesn't even want Photo IDs to vote... Even a fence post can figure out the reasoning behind that little issue...

This particular issue has been brought up in discussions on this forum before. I still have the same opinion now as I did back then. I have no problems with a photo id requirement to vote as a concept. It all comes down to how its implemented. But the big requirement I have is also it must be free. There can be no fee attached to getting the ID. This isn't like a drivers license. Driving is a privilege. Voting is a right. There should be no cover charge for a right.

Curious because I have only ever voted by mail, which I have to register for. How or where would someone be able to vote without registering? And by registering aren’t you giving a residence? Pardon my ignorance. I understand the idea and concern for voter fraud but it appears that there are measures in place to prevent it, right? Like registering?
I’ve heard some are convinced that people also vote multiple times?

The fact-checking site was originally founded in 1995 by David and Barbara Mikkelson, who divorced in 2015. In December 2017, Forbes ran a piece that concluded Snopes has major credibility problems such as: David Mikkelson’s “responses regarding the hiring of strongly partisan fact checkers and his lack of response on screening and assessment protocols present a deeply troubling picture of a secretive black box that acts as ultimate arbitrator of truth, yet reveals little of its inner workings.”

Wow, straight from the venerated (by the left) Washington Times. So who fact checks the Fact Checkers?

I will certainly agree with you on that facet.

Snopes and Politfact have both been under HEAVY fire as of late for outright lying on their sites. They have lost all credibility.

And late yesterday afternoon the DOJ determined that ALL of this impeachment crap was started with the Steele Dossier that is nothing but fantasy, has been proven to be nothing but lies and financed totally by the Clinton Foundation.... anyone getting any insight here????

Loads of insight. Both sides lie about everything and anything they think they can get away with. Politics is dirty business. The worst part about this is that We the people" have allowed it to happen.

That is good to know. The evidence presented looks pretty legit though. But that could all be made up too. I just did a search to see if it was real.
Do you think that is a real student ID?
